Popkomm–IMEA is looking for entrepreneurs, start-ups and new companies who believe that they will have serious impact on the music, media and entertainment business. People and ventures that truly make a difference, that have a unique invention or process or model and that are beyond the mere 'idea-stage'.
All Popkomm–IMEA applicants must:
- Present original and proprietary innovations only
- Have fully operational prototypes and at least some demonstrated market presence and relevance in their home territory
- Be fully incorporated as a company and operate as a going concern
- Be a small or medium sized enterprise (share of a corporate company smaller than 25%)
- Be a start-up project or company (not older than 2 – 5 years)
- Be willing to commit to travelling to Berlin if selected as a finalist. Please note that IMEA / Popkomm does not cover travel expenses. We do however, amongst many other things, provide free Popkomm 2006 accreditations to all IMEA finalists.

- Description of the business model
- Why does the business model further the music industry?
- How innovative is the business proposition?
- Who are the founders (description of the management)?
- What is the company’s size (turnover, employees)?
- What are the next steps of business development?
- How is the project financed?
